Choosing an Acne Laser Specialist
Lasers can only be used for the treatment of acne by
medical professionals, preferably in the field of
Dermatology. Lasers may be administered by
registered nurses or by the dermatologist.
Most sub grade laser companies will advertise laser acne
treatment, but what they are really saying is that they
can treat your acne scars with lasers. Those laser
clinics cannot treat your acne and may even suggest to
treat your acne while treating acne scars. Be
warned that acne scar treatment with lasers should not
be administered while you still have acne. Most
companies performing these types of laser treatments are
not medical offices, but rather call themselves "medical
spas." Beware of these types of businesses.
They may even tempt you to believe that they offer the
same lasers at a much cheaper cost. The purpose of
this site is to help protect you from these types of
companies.
It is more alarming these days when
medical spas, Doctors, and even Dermatologists are using
the Internet to defame and ruin real medical practices
with review boards and review sites. Negative
commentary does not help anyone in the area of
healthcare. That is why we have the medical board
to do that job. However, some medical spas do not
have to deal with the medical board since no doctor is
actually present. It is sad to see these
businesses taking your hard earned money and hurting
people rather than helping them. Our suggestion is
for you to take your time and do your own research when
choosing a good Dermatologist. Do not be deterred
from making a proper decision based on negative reviews
or comments by faceless individuals. You may be
victim of competitive doctors or competitive medical
spas.
Severe acne in most cases can only be cured by using
pharmaceutical grade medicines and medical grade lasers
operated by licensed physician offices. Be very
aware when no Doctor is present or if the Doctor is not
a Dermatologist. Even cosmetic surgeons have
jumped on the band wagon to perform acne laser
treatments. Typically, you may think that since
they are a surgeon that they must know the how to treat
the skin. Actually, the question should be how
many acne patients have they treated? Also, be
very aware of any medical practice selling you spa
treatments.
Remember, a laser is an intense form of light. In the
wrong dose or intensity, the laser can burn you. So
choose wisely where you go to get your acne laser
treatment.
As I have mentioned, an experienced Dermatologist is
responsible to give you the proper dose according to
your actual acne condition and response to the laser.
